Projects Cubit Steel
Cubits Steel by Projects
As one of the more unique watches on this list, the Cubit Steel by Projects is a fresh new look for men who want to dress to impress. You can guarantee that nobody else will be wearing this timepiece. Created by Michael Grave for Projects, this watch features a parallelogram shaped dial is inspired and offers a sophisticated look to those who want a timepiece you can’t take your eyes off of.
The Cubit Steel not only has a hexagonal glass lens and a 3-Dimensional hexagonal dial, but a date feature in a diagonal diamond window that would be located at the 4 o’clock position. However, there are no markings at all on the Cubit Steel. The bezel and dial are made for each other, with the hexagonal cutout meeting each other at the inner rim. The hour, minute, and second hands are gray/steel, black, and white colored (respectively), and look fantastic on this blank timepiece. While the dial contains no numbers aside from the date of the month in that small diamond-shaped window, you never feel like time is lost on you. The shape of the3-D hexagonal dial face and glass lens situates itself in such a way that it allows you to tell time intuitively.
In addition, the fixed bezel is something special. The brushed stainless steel bezel’s interior that meets the outer rim of the dial is cut into the shape of the dial’s hexagon. However, the outer rim of the bezel is perfectly round as to look classic and sleek on the wrist of the man or woman wearing it (yes, the Cubit Steel is unisex!).

Storm MK2 Circuit Slate Green
Storm MK2 Circuit Slate Green, LImited Edition
If you are really looking for unusual, Storm has their MK2 Circuit in Slate Green available for around $250. This watch is not traditional or analog, nor is it fully digital. This men’s watch is great because it tells time using easy to read light-up green bars running vertically down the long, rectangular watch face.
Rather than a dial or dial hands, you have a piece of technology that is not a smartwatch, not a traditional digital readout, and anything but boring. It is also subtle, so you do not have a ton of lights or distracting features that you do not need. In essence, it is quite a simple and elegant piece of non-traditional watchmaking.
This futuristic design is complemented by the unusual LED time display. The band and case are both made from a high grade stainless steel. The design is not bulky and looks very masculine. The 28 LEDs that illuminate in sequence on two rows (the left features the hours and the right features the minutes) are easy to read with the small indicators right next to the Arabic numerals listed on these two vertical columns. As the minutes elapse, the corresponding LEDs illuminate against a Sapphire-bl. Dial, which ensures a brilliant but subtle presentation every 60 seconds.
Storm MK2 Circuit Slate Green: Close Up of the High Grade Black Stainless Steel Rectangular Face, 28 Vertical LEDs, and Engraved Arabic and Mayan Numerals.
The Arabic numerals represents the hours and the tens of minutes, and the Mayan numerals signify minutes 1-9 (two dots indicated for two minutes, three dots for three minutes, etc…) and are engraved on the quality case, adjacent to each LED. The meticulously crafted design features a quality mineral crystal face, a 1/2 inch Stainless Steel thick case, and an adjustable steel bracelet and clasp The timepiece employs the same numeric codes and LED sequencing to display the date as well, at the simple touch of a button.
