The Good
The choice of construction material, stainless steel, is a given; however, the use of black ion-plating (IP) was a great design choice. While the back of the 30mm case is silver-tone stainless steel, the front and sides of the rectangular case are black, as are the bracelet and links.
The black, silver-tone, and diamond theme is what makes this a true luxury-looking dress watch. Matching the black tones is a two-texture black dial with 8 diamonds marking the hours as well as three silver-toned central hands marking the hour, minute, and second.
The timekeeping is not fancy by any means — there is no calendar date window even — but the look is what this watch is all about.
The Bad
There are no negative aspects per se to this timepiece. However, while you can get this watch cheaper at some online retailers, the retail price of $450 should mean that this watch include more than a Quartz movement and a 30 meter water resistance. While the diamond accents are a saving grace, if you pay full retail for this watch, you are definitely buying the brand name rather than overall quality.
Functionality
The Japanese Quartz movement is reliable and keeps the simple time offered on this watch, perfectly. With a 30 meter water resistance, it can also withstand hand washing, rain, and some splashes, which is expected in a timepiece like this.
Highlights
There are eight diamonds that mark the hour positions — all hours besides 12, 3, 6, and 9. Against the two-texture design of the black, rectangular 30mm dial, this classy dress watch is solid. The best part is that the bracelet is integrated right up to the case and is flush on the sides. Rather than your typical watch, this design is more solid and band-like.
The black ion-plated (IP) stainless steel bracelet is really unique and one of the few we have seen like it. The metallic link bracelet is two-texture black — the main links are of a regular IP stainless steel, while the inner links are textured and accented with silver-tone stainless steel.
The Sapphire crystal is high quality and gives off a magnificent look. Because it’s curved, when viewed from above or the side, it offers a quality view of the dial and a sleek design.
