This unique Egard timepiece is called the Quantus V2-Mayan — the dial is inspired by Tzolk’in — this is the official name for the Mayan religious calendar that consisted of 260 days. Each of the days had a name and a number ranging from one to thirteen. It was used for predictions, religious practices, and even in naming one’s newborn baby.
For example, when a Mayan infant was born, they would be given a name that corresponded with their date of birth. The Tzolk’in is represented by three interlocking dials that correlate with the day, month, and year. Modern Mayans still use this system to mark special events like religious ceremonies, weddings, coronations, and holidays.

Power Source
The Quantus V2-Mayan Rose Gold by Egard features a dual balance wheel mechanical movement. Modified by Egard, they ensured that it would fit the curved case, rotate the hour and minute discs, and keep precise time while being exposed through the skeleton dial.
The Good
The brushed Rose Gold of the uniquely shaped 43mm case is outstanding. The partially skeletonized carbon fiber black dial features a look into the dual balance wheel mechanical movement that has been modified by Egard for this piece. The equally unique timekeeping is displayed not by your typical dial hands but by a rotating disc with the hour being tracked on the outer disc and the minutes being tracked by the concentric disc.
Back to the case, this Rose Gold tone looks thick but not chunky in design. In fact, this solid watch’s multi-layered dial and the two-piece curved case and Sapphire coated crystal offer an additional level to this non-traditional analog watch.
The Quantus V2-Mayan is 43mm at its widest point — the case is two-pieced and features a curve that is matched by the Sapphire.
Finally, the black strap is made of top grade leather and uses a push button dual deployant clasp.
The Bad
The case itself is not 18kt Rose Gold, but a Rose Gold tone, and the crystal is a curved, double Sapphire coated mineral crystal rather than solid Sapphire. However, in order to keep the costs down, this is not much of a negative since the overall effect is spectacular.
There is no calendar date window or any other complication beyond the hour and minute — there is no seconds hand either.
Functionality
This Egard Quantus V2-Mayan has a respectable 50 meter / 165 feet (5 ATM) water resistance, which is really good for a casual/dress watch of this caliber.
The dual balance wheel mechanical movement was brought in by Egard Watches and modified for this model — by making it their own and displaying it through the partial skeletonized black carbon fiber dial, this timepiece was made to look spectacular and function so, as well.
Due to the fact that the Quantus on features hour and minute “hands” (via a rotating disc with an outer and inner rotation), it is not complicated to power — so, the movement included in this watch is more than enough to allow this watch to function properly and look great doing it.
The Highlights
It isn’t too difficult to look at this watch and pick out at least five things about it that are stunningly beautiful and different. Case shape, dial design, the movement, curved crystal and case, and the rotating discs are our five favorite things.
The case is something pretty incredible on this Egard Limited Edition watch. With an unusual shape that looks like a wide teardrop, this 43mm Rose Gold tone case features a beautiful brushed finish and a curved design that makes for a great fit on the wrist. The curve is most pronounced on the front where the bezel is located and the curved Sapphire coated crystal matches its curved design.
The dual balance wheel is a mechanical movement that can be seen through the bottom portion of the partially-skeletonized black carbon fiber dial. Taking up the top portion of the dial around the 12 o’clock position are the only timekeeping features to this device. The rotating disc features an outer and inner (concentric) disc that track the hour and minute using the same white marking on the dial as the current time indicator.
Lastly, we would be remiss to not mention the incredible engraving on the back of the case, in silver tone. This engraving pays homage to the Mayan culture and their timekeeping practices in a beautiful way.
