The Good
From crown to clasp, this Kenneth Cole Reaction men’s watch is definitely bold and uniform in its design. The gunmetal stainless steel with brushed finish is a great look for the 48mm case, linked bracelet, and fixed bezel. Even the crown, clasp, and case backing are stainless steel.
This bold design moves onto the dark grey dial, which features blue accents via the stick indexes marking the hours. The analog dial face has a cross-hair design in the center that offers additional symmetry and a clean look.
With a three-hand quartz movement, this timepiece is very simple, tracking the hour, minute, and seconds. This model also offers a 30 meter water resistance, which for the price, is pretty decent.
The Bad
The design of this watch is very decent, but it would have benefitted from an additional complication such as a calendar date window or subdial. In addition, while the water resistance is present, it is only 30 meters (99 feet), which means you would be remiss to even shower with this watch on. A 50 meter resistance would have been preferable and should have been do-able considering that this watch has a mineral glass and strong, solid stainless steel backing.
Functionality
Functionally, besides the weaker water resistance rating, this watch functions quite well. The quartz movement does its job and keeps the time with precision.
The mineral crystal offers a nice and clean look into the dial. The hour and minute markings are dark grey, but can be seen against the dark grey of the dial through the shiny black applications on the hands. The hour indexes are visible being blue in color, but the hands could have been given a more distinctive look in order to view the time better.
Highlights
The highlights of this piece are in its color and construction. The stainless steel is gunmetal in color and with its brushed finish, actually looks very sophisticated and strong. The butterfly clasp is sleek and not bulky at all.
The blue accenting on the dial gives this Kenneth Cole Reaction a very nuclear look, so to speak. In all, the timepiece is very simple, but the price is right and for basic timekeeping, it can be great for both casual and business wear.
