Ted Baker London has come out with a stunning fashion line of men and women’s timepieces. Choosing just one to focus on is difficult, but we can’t deny that one particular men’s watch was too stunning to not feature.

The Ted Baker London men’s 42mm “Modern Vintage” timepiece is an eye-catching collection by the London-based manufacturer of clothing, jewelry, and accessories. One watch in particular really caught our eye — the “Black / Dark Red” model, which features a combination of color and materials that make this one of the most attractive men’s watches we’ve truly been surprised at in some time.

Power Source
This Ted Baker uses a three-hand (3H) Quartz movement to power the three main central hands as well as the small calendar date window. You can set the time quickly and easily via the crown at the traditional point on the right hand side of the case.
The Good
The good aspects to this timepiece are all about the design. Everything about this piece has such a wonderful London-chic look that rivals Burberry in its warm tones and modern, sleek vibe.
The stainless steel casing is ion-plated with a beautiful rose gold that continues onto the dial numerals and stick indexes. The black dial is perfectly round and looks spectacular with the use of rose gold IP and white second/minute markings along the outer dial.
Just above the six o’clock numeral resides a very small but efficient calendar date window. With a matching pair of rose gold hour and minute hands to match the numerals, and a thin red seconds hand, the overall look is gorgeous while remaining minimalistic and powerful.
The 42mm size of the case is perfect — not too large and not too small. The openness that the dial face gives the user is a breath of fresh air. This is certainly a look that deserves a ‘modern but vintage’ description.
The Bad
The water resistance is not terrible, but it is rated for 30 meters (99 feet). A 50 meter water resistance would be better for a watch of this price, but it can still withstand splashes and accidental drops in water.
Functionality
While the water resistance is 30 meters, the functionality of this piece is simple and performs very well. The three-hand quartz does its job well and keeps precision time. The calendar date window is the only other function on the dial besides the three main hands.
The leather strap is beautiful and has a durable skin. The construction of the case is similarly well-constructed, with stainless steel featuring rose gold ion-plating. With a hardened mineral protecting the dial and a solid case back, this Ted Baker Modern Vintage has a great design and even better functionality.
Highlights
The use of Rose Gold IP and the two-toned leather strap: these are the two aspects that are worth mentioning the most. This “Modern Vintage” look manages to really separate this Ted Baker watch from others on the market.
The black dial is complemented spectacularly by the rose gold ion-plated (IP) stainless steel case, bezel, dial hands, and hour markers. The 42mm case and the fixed bezel are polished off, which match the hour and minute hands, as well as the alternating Arabic numeral and stick index design in rose gold.
The leather strap is two-toned, with two-thirds of the strap (vertically) comprising of a beautiful dark red color, and the other one-third in a dial-matching black.
The use of rose gold IP stainless steel in this design was wonderfully done — bold but also minimalist in design. This men’s watch will look outstanding on any man, and women will also find the design to be stunning if the 42mm size is not too large for your tastes.
